Template Open Source Commercial License

Template Open Source Commercial License

License Agreement: Apache License 2.0

Agreement Version: Version 2.0 (January 2004)

The Aegilume template is licensed to you under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the Aegilume template in accordance with this agreement, including for commercial projects, provided that you comply with the attribution requirements, disclaimer provisions, and other obligations set forth herein.

This Agreement applies to users who select the “Open Source Commercial Use (Apache 2.0)” channel. To obtain value-added benefits such as exclusive licensing, trademark usage, custom development, and SLAs, you must separately sign the “Base Template Commercial License Agreement.” The Base Template Commercial License Agreement is independent and operates in parallel with this Agreement; by choosing this channel, you acknowledge and accept all terms of the Apache 2.0 License as well as the supplementary provisions set forth herein.

Important Notice

  1. This document serves as a compliant interpretation and supplementary set of constraints regarding the official English text of the Apache License 2.0. It is provided solely to assist the licensee in understanding the license and does not replace, supersede, or alter the legal validity of the original English version of the Apache License 2.0.

  2. The additional compliance obligations, trademark restrictions, and limitations on platform-related benefits introduced herein govern exclusively the relationship between the licensee and the licensor concerning platform services; they do not modify or replace the license granted by the Apache License 2.0 for the template code itself. The original terms of the Apache License 2.0 remain fully applicable in all circumstances.

  3. This open-source license governs only the use of the templates within the scope of their open-source release. It operates as a licensing framework independent of, and parallel to, the "Template Commercial License Agreement," with the two systems remaining non-conflicting. Rights falling outside the scope of the Apache License 2.0—such as bespoke commercial customization, paid value-added services, exclusive commercial authorization, and dedicated technical support—are governed exclusively by the Commercial License Agreement. The licensee may not assert exclusive commercial rights based on this open-source license, nor may they use the Commercial License Agreement to circumvent the compliance obligations stipulated herein.

Subject to the Licensee’s full compliance with all obligations set forth in this Agreement and the original Apache 2.0 License, the Licensee shall be entitled to perform the following acts:

  1. Use the foundational templates for the development, deployment, operation, and implementation of personal or commercial projects;

  2. Legally copy, partially modify, iteratively enhance, and adapt/optimize the template source code, configuration files, and documentation content;

  3. Distribute the original or modified templates in the form of source code or object code;

  4. For secondary creation or derivative development based on a template, you may establish separate licensing terms and usage rules for any derivative content that you have independently developed or added.

  5. Implement downstream sublicensing in compliance with the terms of the Apache 2.0 license.

The rights of use expressly granted under this Agreement are fully consistent with the scope of the original statutory rights under Apache 2.0, and do not deprive or restrict any of the user’s inherent legal rights. All rights, interests, and compliance obligations that are neither expressly granted herein nor exempted under the original Apache 2.0 license are retained in their entirety by the licensor. The licensee shall not, by means of implied interpretation, circumvention clauses, fragmented use, or disguised re‑application, exceed the scope of the licensed materials, nor may it assert any rights beyond those expressly set forth in the original Apache 2.0 license and this Agreement.

Licensee’s Obligation to Ensure Compliance

All use, modification, and distribution activities by the Licensee must strictly comply with the following mandatory compliance obligations; failure to meet these requirements shall constitute a breach of contract and unauthorized use. The Licensor shall have the right to terminate any platform‑provided additional benefits (such as trademark usage and commercial technical support), pursue liability for breach of contract, and require strict adherence to the Apache 2.0 attribution obligation in all distributions.

  1. Obligation to Pass On the License: When the licensee distributes this template—or any derivative works based upon it—to any third party, they must include the full text of the Apache License 2.0. This ensures that downstream recipients are aware of and comply with the terms of the open-source license. This requirement is entirely consistent with the original license and does not impose any conflicting additional obligations.

  2. Obligation to Disclose Modifications: Should the licensee make any modifications, iterations, or optimizations to the template source code, configuration files, or functional modules, they must clearly indicate the modification record, date, and the party responsible for the change in a prominent location within the modified files. This must clearly distinguish the original content provided by the licensor from the content added or modified by the licensee, so as to prevent any ambiguity regarding ownership.

  3. Obligation to Retain Ownership and Legal Notices: When distributing the template or any derivative works, the licensee must retain, in their entirety, all original copyright, patent, attribution, disclaimer, and legal ownership notices associated with the template. The licensee shall not remove, alter, or obscure the licensor’s original ownership identifiers; they may only add their own ownership notices, and must not replace or overwrite the original open-source ownership information.

  4. Obligation to Retain Compliance Documents: If the original template includes a "NOTICE" statement file, the licensee must retain and display the full content of such statement when distributing derivative works. It is prohibited to delete or alter this content; any additional statements provided by the licensee may serve only as supplementary material and shall not replace the original statement, nor may they modify the validity or effect of the open-source license itself.

  5. Compliance Obligations Regarding Trademarks and Goodwill: Neither this agreement nor the original Apache 2.0 License grants the licensee any right to use trademarks, trade names, brand logos, domain names, or visual IP associated with "Aegilume" . The licensee may use such identifiers only to the minimum extent necessary and in a reasonable, customary manner to indicate the source of the template; such use must not extend to commercial purposes—including the licensee’s own brand promotion, product naming, commercial endorsements, or public declarations of certification—and must not mislead the public into believing that the licensee’s products are developed in partnership with, certified by, or jointly operated with the "Aegilume" brand.

  6. Obligation to Assume Risks Independently: The Licensee explicitly acknowledges that AI code templates possess inherent technical limitations, including but not limited to code vulnerabilities, compatibility issues, compliance risks related to open-source components, and deficiencies in suitability for specific use cases. Prior to use, the Licensee must independently conduct code audits, security testing, compliance verification, and commercial risk assessments. The Licensee shall solely bear all risks and consequences arising from the implementation, secondary development, or commercial operation of such code.

The Licensor reserves the right to conduct audits and hold the licensee accountable for any violations.

The authorization points above serve only as a summary for reference and do not replace the full terms of the agreement provided below.

Appendix: How to apply the Apache License to your work

To apply the Apache License to your work, attach the following standard notice, replacing the fields within the square brackets "[]" with your own identifying information (do not include the brackets themselves). The text should be formatted using the comment syntax appropriate for the file type. We also recommend including the filename or class name—along with a brief description of its purpose—in the same "printed page" as the copyright notice, to facilitate identification within third-party archives.
